ABC Hyundai, Las Vegas: After Your Money! RUN!!!

After two weeks driving around Vegas my 2018 Hyundai Elantra had a flat tire!  Tire pressure gauge didn’t show     any sign of it.  But the car icon showed a problem with the front tire. Halfway through the dealership, tire was completely flat! Called AAA and after replacing it with the spare tire, he said, “I don’t see any nail mark. The problem can be the side of the tire; hence, it lost air.”

Immediately after we arrived at ABC Hyundai, the service department crew, Raymond, have it checked. Came back to us in 15 min. Reported to us that the problem was on the side of the tire AND IT WAS UNREPAIRABLE! Adding salt to the wound, he also told us that we have to pay $150. WHAT? I vehemently argued. Raymond was mumbling as he left us. Then, he came back to us after another 15 min. Now he said, it is not only an issue of the side of the tire. The technician found a nail on the tire! The manager also joined in, also insisting that it wasn’t a manufacturing defect, so we have to pay for that $150.

Angry, I left ABC Hyundai without replacing the spare tire. Then I took the car to Pep Boys. There I knew that ABC Hyundai was just trying to get more money from me. Pep Boys checked the tire, applied a patch on that nailed spot, and VOILA the tire has been as good as new?

I vowed never to go to ABC Hyundai. Raymond and the manager are there to flesh out more money from their customer!  SO RUN AWAY from them!!!

The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

These words were first written by an English author, Edward Bulwer-Lytton, in 1839 to advocate written communication as an effective tool than direct violence. Writing is a way of expressing thoughts. Writing is an effective tool in releasing anger.

I was so mad at ABC Hyundai-Las Vegas yesterday after I brought in my 8-day old 2018 Hyundai Elantra that I decided to revive this blog account to write anything disgusting, particularly about Hyundai. I may not be so smart about cars, but I have the written words to sway others to reconsider getting a Hyundai!

Expect more from my pen Mr. Manager and Robert Hayes of the Service Dept. of ABC Hyundai!!!

Global Human Rights-Education Press Release on bullying (and My Newly Composed Song: Nowhere to Hide!)

Bullying is a world-wide problem and Global-HR is linking us to a film, posted on You Tube, to help us join hands to combat it.  Please check it out!

Also, here’s my newly composed song, Nowhere to Hide, to encourage victims of bullying to face the world of bullies by building courage, focusing and enjoying the goodness of life.  Rather than hiding or looking for a place to hide, we need to speak up.  Those of us, who have not experienced bullying, we need to join hands discouraging bullies of their aggressive verbal and non-verbal actions.

NOWHERE TO HIDE!  (Lyric and music: (c) Edmund Industan, March 5, 2014)

1)  Going around the world

Looking for a perfect place to hide (Yes, to hide)

USA to Africa

Great Britain to Australia (Nowhere to hide)

You won’t find a perfect place.

There’s someone who won’t give you peace.

Nowhere to hide!

No destination is a perfect place

Those in the east are the same as the west.

Nowhere to hide (completely to hide)

E’en if you go around the world!

People in every corner of the world

They have behavior the same where you’re from

Just try to live; enjoy what you can.

Adapt, adjust, look for something fun.

2.  Bullying is around!

Just ignore it if you can (Oh, yes, yes, you can)

E’en if you’re in Russia,

Philippines, or Canada (Nowhere to hide)

You know there ain’t a place to hide.

E’en in Falkland, Greenland, or New Zealand.

Nowhere to hide!

(Repeat Ref.)

Subject: [hr-education] Beat bullying! The role of citizenship and human rights education

Bullying in schools is a worldwide problem that can have negative consequences for the general school climate and for the right of students to learn in a safe environment without fear. Bullying is the consequence of aggressive behaviour that has to be stopped and prevented.

Education for democratic citizenship and human rights plays a crucial role in raising awareness and promoting the respect of human dignity and social cohesion among learners and educators. Moreover, education for democratic citizenship and human rights aims at strengthening learners’ and educators’ knowledge, skills, attitudes and values for handling diversity and differences, promoting a positive environment and preventing violence at school through a model of coexistence which affirms the existence of others, rejects violence and protects children’s rights.

Are you worried about bullying in schools? Did you know that there are simple and inexpensive ways to tackle the problem? Watch the Council of Europe’s new film on combating bullying in schools through human rights and citizenship education, to see how the introduction of a human rights ethos in schools can help prevent bullying. The film was launched at a side event during the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly session on 30 January 2014.

To Friends and All who are Against Bullying:

Here’s the Up Against Bullying anthem I wrote and delivered at the Human Experience, which is held every Monday night (from 7pm to midnight) at The Beat Coffee House in Fremont East District, Downtown Las Vegas.

My heartfelt thanks to Prince, one of the four energetic MCs’ who take turns to keep the “fire” going the whole night.

Those of you who wants to adapt this anthem for their anti-bullying movement, please feel free to do so. Let’s join hands to discourage people, both adults and students, from bullying.
